Wake & District Pipe Band to Celebrate Burns Night, 20 Years of Service, and Release Limited “Band Batch” Bourbon with Olde Raleigh Distillery
Raleigh, NC — January 2026 — The Wake & District Public Safety Pipes & Drums will host an informal Robert Burns Night celebration on Saturday, January 26, bringing music, heritage, and community together at Olde Raleigh Distillery. The evening also marks two milestones: 20 years of Wake & District and five years of Olde Raleigh Distillery, highlighted by the release of a limited-edition Band Batch Bourbon crafted in partnership for the occasion.

Burns Night honors Scottish poet Robert Burns through poetry, music, and shared hospitality. Wake & District will present a relaxed interpretation of tradition, welcoming long-time Burns Night supporters alongside guests experiencing it for the first time.
The program will feature a bit of live pipe band music, Burns-inspired readings, an original Address to the Bourbon written in classic Burns Night style, and the inaugural pour of the Band Batch Bourbon. The atmosphere is intended to feel welcoming, conversational, and rooted in shared experience rather than formality.
“This celebration reflects two journeys reaching important moments,” said Joe Brady, Band Manager of Wake & District. “Twenty years of serving communities through music, and five years of local distilling built on craft and relationships. Burns Night gives us space to mark both with music, stories, and a good dram.”
The Band Batch Bourbon release serves as a symbol of craftsmanship, patience, and collective effort — values shared by pipe bands and distillers alike. Produced in a limited run, the bourbon commemorates the band’s two decades of performance and remembrance while also celebrating the distillery’s growth as a local gathering place since its founding.
Wake & District Public Safety Pipes & Drums performs across North Carolina and beyond at civic events, memorials, competitions, and community gatherings. The band exists to honor fallen public-safety professionals while fostering musical excellence, service, and camaraderie.
